Preface
People have seen amazing sites in their lives, for me it was the diamond. It has been a long
time since I've seen this land, it's darker now almost tragic, but all this will change in the
telling of this story. You knew me as Mimi and I’m sure the girl by that name is still
somewhere inside me but I go by a few different names now, it just depends on how you see me
and which side of the story you’re on. This land showed me beauty once before but I never
dreamed it would show me darkness too. Let’s go back to the morning this all began…
I was writing a letter to my aunt Pearl, catching her up on all the going's on as I sat eating
my usual toast with marmalade when, suddenly a strange sense of foreboding came over me. I
saw the room around me darken. The clouds rolled over my house and something was wrong,
very wrong. It was as if something had taken over my body.
